Everyone needs an editor. But not everyone recognizes that

need. The fact is, few of us are capable of fully assessing our

own writing. We’re blind to too many lapses in word choice,

grammar, logic, structure, and consistency, to say nothing of

those not-so-trivial elements, spelling and punctuation. Only

a trained, professional eye can save us from these blind spots,

and from the embarrassments and misunderstandings they

produce.
